While working at a dental care facility in Delhi, Nitin Bindlish saw the struggles of parents of children with special needs. As a parent of two children, he realized how much more difficult it was for them to get the right medical care for their children. He looked up the statistics and was blown by the sheer number of children with special needs in the country. Therefore, he set up Mom’s Belief with help from Chief Child Psychologist Dr. Mukta Vasal in 2015.
Mom’s Belief website provides at-home tools to deal with situations that special parents face regularly, as well as professional support from developmental psychologists, neuro-pediatrics, language, and occupational therapists, among others. The aim is to help the parent become a co-therapist for their child.
Through different modules, the startup helps the parents to participate in their child’s development with the vision of “No Child Should Be Left Behind”. They have online and at-home therapy options, besides several centers that provide everything from clinical support to inclusive school programs.
Recently, Nitin was one of the recipients of the Business World’s 40 under 40 Achievers. As he received the award, he said, “Parents, especially mothers, of children with special needs go through a lot. It feels like a worthwhile thing to help reduce her pain in any way we can.”
