This scheme was floated in order to provide the people covered by the Trust access to affordable health insurance. Beneficiaries enrolled in it can avail an insurance cover upto Rs 1 lakh.
It covers both in-patient and out-patient treatments, but there are caps in how much can be spent on the type of procedure. For example, the entire coverage of hospitalisation has the upper limit of Rs 70,000 while that for OPD services is Rs 14,500. For therapies needed to improve the quality of life of the beneficiary, a maximum of Rs 10,000 can be availed.
There are sub-caps on specific procedures required as well. The other services recognised under the scheme include diagnostic tests, regular medical checkups and preventive dental treatments. The in-patient procedures include corrective surgeries for congenital defects, ongoing therapies like physiotherapy and any alternative treatment that the beneficiary may seek.
No medical screening is required to enrol in this scheme.
