Sahyogi

This scheme intends to create an army of trained and skilled caregivers to help the families of the beneficiaries by means of establishing Caregiver Cells (CGCs). The parents and family members can also enrol themselves in the training as well.

There are two levels of training – a three-month primary course that covers the basics and a six-month advanced course that has more detailed modules for topics like communication, social interactions, mental health and such.

Both the courses have been designed by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). They have different eligibility criteria. Parents or family members who do either course are required to only attend the theory classes. Other candidates are required to undergo a mandatory paid internship as a part of the course.
